Transportation
Along with the many beautiful islands, you can enjoy the experience of different forms of public transportation that are common in the Philippines.
Traffic in Metro Manila
This is traffic in Makati, just south of Manila. Common public transportation in this area includes buses, jeepneys, and taxis.
Buses and Jeepneys
Buses are of course used for the much longer distances and vary in amenities. Jeepneys, like the vehicle on the left of the bus in the photo, are often used to travel within the area, roughly 15 minutes. Each Jeepney is personally designed by it's owner to stand out. To get on a Jeepney, you hop in the back and there is a bench on each side. You would then pass your payment up to the driver. This is an unforgettable and fun experience and very affordable.
Tricycle
These tricycles are motorcycles with side cars. You can usually sit about 2-3 people in the side car and 1-2 people behind the driver. These are used for short trips from a main road to your house and is also very affordable.
Tour Boat
These boats are often used for tours and island hopping. They can hold up to 30 people, and could include perks such as karaoke and delicious food cooked right on the boat.
